# Tradie websites in NZ, done for you, from $499 + GST

You're on the tools. Your website's on the job. We deal with Google, the domain and the tech. You send photos of finished jobs when you remember.

**Short answer:** A tradie website has one job: turn a Google search into a call or a quote request. "plumber auckland" alone gets about 2,900 searches a month (Oct 2026). Five pages cost $899 + GST, and Business Plus is live within 10 working days of getting your content. A one-page site is $499 + GST, and usually quicker.

## What a tradie website must do

Most customers find a tradie on a phone, often in a hurry. These are the things that win the job.

- Your phone number at the top, tappable on a mobile
- The suburbs and towns you cover, in plain text
- Photos of real jobs, not stock photos of hard hats
- A short quote form: name, contact, what the job is
- Your licence or registration: LBP, electrical or plumbing
- Real reviews, with a link to your Google profile
- Your Google Business Profile set up and linked to the site

## Websites for builders, plumbers, sparkies and more

Every trade has its own quirk. Here's what we lead with for each.

- **Builders**: Project pages do the selling. A renovation with before and after photos says more than a paragraph. "builder auckland" gets about 1,000 searches a month at ~$6.90 a click ex GST (Oct 2026).
- **Plumbers**: Urgent work comes from phones. Your number and your areas belong at the top. At ~$12.52 a click on Google Ads (ex GST, Oct 2026), showing up for free in Maps matters.
- **Electricians**: For sparkies, registration up front builds trust fast. Split residential and commercial work so each customer sees their side. "electrician auckland" costs ~$8.10 a click ex GST (Oct 2026).
- **Painters**: Colour and finish sell the job. A gallery of finished rooms and exteriors, with the suburb on each, does the work.
- **Landscapers**: Seasonal demand means your site should show what you do in each season. "landscaper auckland" costs ~$10.59 a click ex GST (Oct 2026).
- **Roofers**: At ~$24.99 a click for "roofer auckland", ads get expensive fast (ex GST, Oct 2026). A strong site and Google profile earn those clicks for free.

## What a plumber, electrician, builder or landscaper website needs

The basics above suit every trade. These are the pages and details we add for four of the most common.

- **Website for a plumber**: A call button that stays in reach on a phone, because burst pipes don't wait. After-hours details, if you take urgent jobs, so people know when to ring. Your service areas by suburb. Your licence or registration number if you hold one, linked to the public register. A short form for the jobs that can wait.
- **Website for an electrician**: Your registration details, if you hold them, close to your phone number. A plain list of the jobs you do, so customers can see you handle theirs. Separate sections for home and commercial work if you do both. A quote form that asks what's needed and where.
- **Website for a builder**: Project galleries, with before and after photos and the suburb on each. A simple outline of how you work, from first visit to handover. Your LBP details if you hold them. A form that asks whether it's a new build, a renovation or a repair, so you can reply with the right questions.
- **Website for a landscaper**: Your services by season, so the site still speaks to customers in winter. Galleries of finished gardens, paving and planting. A quote form that invites a photo or two of the section, which can save a wasted visit. The suburbs and towns you cover.

## Tradie website FAQ

### How much does a tradie website cost in NZ?

Ours are $499 + GST for one page, or $899 + GST for five. Both include SEO setup, a contact form, Google Maps setup, and domain and hosting for the first year. For comparison, Auckland agencies typically quote about $1,800 (small agencies) to $4,000 (large agencies) + GST for a small site, from [our survey](https://websmarthq.com/guides/nz-website-prices/) of 25+ published NZ prices (Oct 2026). See [pricing](https://websmarthq.com/pricing/) for the full list.

### Can you build an affordable website for my trade business?

Yes. It's $499 + GST for one page or $899 + GST for five. Either way you get click-to-call, your service areas, photos of your jobs and a quote form, plus [Google Business Profile](https://websmarthq.com/google-business-profile/) setup.

### Do I need a website if I get work from lead-gen sites or word of mouth?

Probably, yes. Word of mouth still works, but most people Google you before they ring. A missing or tired site loses some of those jobs. Lead-gen sites are useful, but they own the customer relationship, and some charge per lead. Your own website and Google profile don't charge per enquiry, and the reviews stay yours.

### What should a tradie website have?

Your phone number at the top, tappable on a mobile. The suburbs you cover. Photos of real jobs. A short quote form. Your licence or registration. Real reviews, linked to your Google profile. Keep it simple: a customer with a burst pipe wants to know if you cover their area and how to reach you, fast.

### Can I show my LBP number or electrical registration on my site?

Yes, and you should. It's one of the quickest trust signals a tradie has. We put it near your contact details and on your About page. We can also link to the public register, so customers can check it themselves. Licensed Building Practitioners, registered electricians and plumbers all have public registers in NZ.

### I work across many suburbs. How do I show up in all of them?

Start with your Google Business Profile: list every area you cover as a service area. Then give your main suburbs a mention on your website, so Google connects you to them. Business Plus has room for service and project pages that name real suburbs. Reviews that mention the suburb help too. For more, see [local SEO](https://websmarthq.com/local-seo/).

### Which website builder is best for tradies?

If you want to do it yourself, the big builders all work. Pick one that's easy on a phone and lets you use your own domain. The catch is time: setting up SEO, Google Maps and forms well takes hours most tradies don't have. Our [website options guide](https://websmarthq.com/guides/website-options-compared-nz/) compares builders with getting it done for you.
