Meeting in person, or online

We can meet in person anywhere in Auckland, including Howick, Botany and East Tāmaki. If email and video call suit you better, that works just as well.

Most of a website happens on screen anyway: you send your details, we send your homepage, and you say yes or “change this”.

The deal stays the same either way. The price is fixed, and you see your homepage before you pay the balance. Your domain, content, Google profile and analytics are in your name. We host the site, and you can move it any time.

What it means for you

Howick village is a big café name: about 1,300 searches a month, more than any West Auckland suburb we checked. Trades lean on the area name instead: “electrician east auckland” gets three times the searches of “electrician howick”. Name your suburb and East Auckland, and list the others you cover.

We searched Howick. Here’s what Google showed.

Three everyday searches, made from Howick, and the Top 3 businesses in Google’s map for each. What they had, and what they were missing.

  • cafe howick
  • electrician howick
  • hairdresser howick
Checked 8 October 2026
  • 3 of 9had no website of their own: 2 had no link, and 1 linked to Facebook
  • 9reviews: the fewest any Top 3 business had (an electrician)
  • 2 of 9had fewer than 20 reviews
  • 203reviews: the middle count across the 9 Top 3 businesses

Searched on Google NZ (desktop) on 8 October 2026, set to Howick, Auckland. We looked at the top three unpaid map results for each search and haven’t named the businesses. Review counts are from the search itself; hours, photos and claimed status come from Google listing data updated between May and October 2026. Google’s results move every day; this is one moment in time.

What it means for you

Howick’s Top 3 mixes long-reviewed names with businesses on very few reviews; one got in with 9. A third had no website of their own. Both gaps are easy to close with a complete profile, a simple site and a habit of asking for reviews.

A Google profile checklist for East Auckland

Drawn from our local check: what the Top 3 had, and what the next businesses down were missing.

  • Your own website, linked from your profile. 3 of 9 Top 3 businesses here linked to nothing, a social page or a free builder address instead.
  • 10 or more real photos: your work, your people and your entrance. 1 of 9 here had fewer.
  • A steady flow of reviews from every customer, each with a reply. The Top 3 here had a middle count of 203; the smallest had 9.
  • Up-to-date hours, with holiday hours set. People look before they leave home.
  • The right main category, plus a few accurate extra ones. In our experience, Google leans on it to decide which searches you show up for.
  • A service area if you travel to customers, which keeps your home address off the map.
  • One consistent name, address and phone across your website, Google profile and listings.

What it means for you

More than half of Howick Local Board residents (56%) were born overseas, and about 1 in 9 speak Mandarin. Plain-English pages with clear prices help, and if Chinese-speaking customers are a big part of your trade, key details in Chinese may be worth adding. The area grew 8.9% between the last two censuses.

East Auckland suburbs we cover

Most of these sit in the Howick Local Board area. We work with all of them by email and video call.

Howick

Howick is one of Auckland’s oldest settlements, with a village centre of cafés, boutiques and services. Village shops live and die by Google Maps and correct opening hours.

Pakuranga

Pakuranga is built around its town centre and Pakuranga Plaza, on the main roads to Howick and Botany. Plenty of people type it without the macron, so we write your pages to read naturally both ways.

Botany and Flat Bush

Botany Town Centre is the retail heart of the area, and Flat Bush next door is one of Auckland’s newer, fast-growing suburbs. Lots of new businesses open here, so we set up the basics from day one: a Google profile, accurate hours and a site that names your suburb.

East Tāmaki and Highbrook

East Tāmaki and Highbrook are business parks: manufacturers, wholesalers, logistics and trade suppliers. Here a website is usually about winning business-to-business quotes, not walk-in trade.

Half Moon Bay and Bucklands Beach

Half Moon Bay has the marina and the ferry to the city, and Bucklands Beach runs along the peninsula beside it. Businesses here mostly serve the peninsula, so naming the exact suburbs you cover on your site helps.

Beyond Google: where East Auckland looks

Google matters most, but locals find businesses in other places too. Each of these is local and worth a few minutes of your time.

Should you run ads?

For plumbers, builders and electricians, a click here costs about $2.87 to $10.79 (ex GST). If each job brings in a few hundred dollars or more, ads can be worth it, as long as they only show for searches that mean business. Mechanics and hairdressers pay far less per click, but customers usually pick those from the map and reviews, so start there. East Auckland questions

Straight answers. Can’t see yours? Ask us.

Do you visit East Auckland businesses?

Yes. We can meet in person anywhere in Auckland, at your premises or a café nearby. If email and video call suit you better, that works just as well. Either way, you send your logo, photos and details, and you see your homepage before you pay the balance.

Can you help East Tāmaki and Highbrook firms win B2B enquiries?

Yes. A B2B site needs different things from a café site: clear services, the industries you supply, proof you can deliver, and a quote form that asks the right questions. Business Plus gives you five pages to cover that. Larger builds with more pages are Business Pro, priced on request.

How does an East Auckland business get into the Google map pack?

The map pack is about your business, not your web designer. Google says it weighs relevance, distance and prominence: how well your profile matches the search, how close you are to the person searching, and how well known you are, reviews included. We set up your Google Business Profile properly: categories, services, service area and photos. Then it’s about steady reviews. Nobody can guarantee a spot, and Google says so.

Do you have East Auckland reviews or clients?

We won’t claim East Auckland clients we can’t show you. We don’t name clients on this site without permission. What you can check is our Google profile: 5.0 stars (Oct 2026), with our Google reviews quoted word for word on our reviews page.

Do I need a website if I’m on Google Maps?

In most cases, yes. The profile gets you noticed. The website is where people decide whether to call, and it’s what Google and AI tools read to understand your business. Our 8 October 2026 check of Howick found that 3 of the 9 Top 3 businesses had no website of their own (no link, or a social or booking page instead). An easy one to fix.

How many Google reviews do I need to show up in Howick?

There isn’t a set number, and distance from the searcher plays a big part. To give you an idea: in our 8 October 2026 check, the Top 3 businesses in Howick had a middle count of 203 reviews, and the smallest had just 9. In our experience, a steady trickle of new reviews, each answered, counts as much as the total.

How much does a website cost in New Zealand?

It ranges from a few hundred dollars to many thousands, depending on the number of pages, what the site needs to do and who builds it. We keep it simple: Business Lite (one page) is $499 + GST and Business Plus (five pages) is $899 + GST, both with your domain, hosting and Google profile setup for the first year. A deposit books your spot. You see your homepage before you pay the balance. See what’s included.
