- Photos of real jobs, not stock photos of hard hats
- A short quote form: name, contact, what the job is
- Your licence or registration: LBP, electrical or plumbing
- Real reviews, with a link to your Google profile
- Your Google Business Profile set up and linked to the site
- Searches a month for “plumber auckland”

Tradie website FAQ
Straight answers. Can’t see yours? Ask us.
How much does a tradie website cost in NZ?
Ours are $499 + GST for one page, or $899 + GST for five. Both include SEO setup, a contact form, Google Maps setup, and domain and hosting for the first year. For comparison, Auckland agencies typically quote about $1,800 (small agencies) to $4,000 (large agencies) + GST for a small site, from our survey of 25+ published NZ prices (Oct 2026). See pricing for the full list.
Can you build an affordable website for my trade business?
Yes. It’s $499 + GST for one page or $899 + GST for five. Either way you get click-to-call, your service areas, photos of your jobs and a quote form, plus Google Business Profile setup.
Do I need a website if I get work from lead-gen sites or word of mouth?
Probably, yes. Word of mouth still works, but most people Google you before they ring. A missing or tired site loses some of those jobs. Lead-gen sites are useful, but they own the customer relationship, and some charge per lead. Your own website and Google profile don’t charge per enquiry, and the reviews stay yours.
What should a tradie website have?
Your phone number at the top, tappable on a mobile. The suburbs you cover. Photos of real jobs. A short quote form. Your licence or registration. Real reviews, linked to your Google profile. Keep it simple: a customer with a burst pipe wants to know if you cover their area and how to reach you, fast.
Can I show my LBP number or electrical registration on my site?
Yes, and you should. It’s one of the quickest trust signals a tradie has. We put it near your contact details and on your About page. We can also link to the public register, so customers can check it themselves. Licensed Building Practitioners, registered electricians and plumbers all have public registers in NZ.
I work across many suburbs. How do I show up in all of them?
Start with your Google Business Profile: list every area you cover as a service area. Then give your main suburbs a mention on your website, so Google connects you to them. Business Plus has room for service and project pages that name real suburbs. Reviews that mention the suburb help too. For more, see local SEO.
Which website builder is best for tradies?
If you want to do it yourself, the big builders all work. Pick one that’s easy on a phone and lets you use your own domain. The catch is time: setting up SEO, Google Maps and forms well takes hours most tradies don’t have. Our website options guide compares builders with getting it done for you.
